My Activist Series was created while watching a woman candidate for President of the United States referred to as a "nasty woman" by her challenger during a Presidential Debate. I was so upset, that the next day I created my #NastyWoman Truffles as a creative outlet for all the emotions whirling inside me. I've since added several other items to the collection and will likely add more in the future. Artists have a long history of using their creative talents as advocates for expression - and I am no different in that regard. I get it that my concerns and beliefs are not universally shared - so be it. As an activist I support organizations such as ACLU whose lawyers ensure Americans' rights to freedom of speech.
